Nu börjar det dra ihop sig lite. Ska JM lyckas jaga ut det lilla socker som har gömt sig i kroppen....
Från dag 9
Although my blood ketones are still predictably higher right now at well over 3.0 mmol, my #bloodsugar has crept up to 81 (from 67) in the morning and then 93 on camera at 5PM on Tuesday. You might be wondering why and how this could possibly happen when no food has been consumed. I'm so glad you asked!
On page 249 of THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO FASTING, here's how @DrJasonFung describes what's happening:
"Where did that #sugar (in the elevated blood glucose readings during an extended fast) come from? It could only come from your own body, specifically the liver. That glucose molecule was always in your body...(This) does not mean you are doing anything wrong. It's a normal occurrence. It just means that you have more work to do to clear out the stored sugar. And over time, fasting will do that."

So, you see, when you have insulin resistance as bad as I do, one of the benefits of these extended fasts is getting to these pockets of sugar that remain trapped in my body to release. The more I engage in fasting, the more these are released so the healing can continue. It's why I am engaging in these longer fasts to try to undo much of the damage from the poor nutritional choices of my past that have gotten me into this situation to begin with. Slowly but surely, that's happening and patience and persistence will get me there. *
